About WageClear
WageClear is a small set of pay and overtime calculators built around one idea: a paycheck number is easier to trust when you can see how it was put together.
Why we built it
Most pay calculators hand you a single figure and surround it with ads for a dozen unrelated tools. That is fine for a quick answer, but it hides the parts that actually help you reason — how much of your overtime is premium, what a raise adds to each paycheck, or how your effective hourly rate changes when you work extra hours. WageClear focuses on the breakdown: every result is split into the pieces that matter, so the math is transparent instead of a black box.
How the tools work
Everything runs in your browser using plain JavaScript. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server that receives your salary. When you type a number, the calculation happens on your device and the result appears instantly. Because there is no upload, you can use these tools for real, private figures without worrying about where the data goes.
Our current calculators cover the most common pay questions:
- Time and a half — your 1.5× overtime rate and the premium it adds.
- Overtime — a full week split into regular, overtime, and double-time pay.
- Double time — pay at 2× your regular rate.
- Pay raise — what a percentage or fixed raise means per paycheck, plus a reverse mode.
- Salary and hourly conversion — two-way, with an optional overtime component.
What we don't do
We deliberately keep the scope narrow. WageClear does the arithmetic of pay; it does not give legal or tax advice, and it does not publish state-by-state overtime law. Those rules change and vary widely, and getting them wrong has real consequences. Where the law matters, we point you to the federal FLSA baseline and suggest checking your state labor department for specifics. Our guides explain concepts conservatively and always with a disclaimer.
Accuracy and feedback
The calculations are tested against worked examples, and every result is a gross, before-tax estimate. If you spot a number that looks wrong or a scenario we should support, we want to hear about it — see the contact page. Clear, correct math is the entire point of this site, so corrections are genuinely welcome.
